Creative Blogs Galore

I discovered the blogging world when my friend Kae was getting married. I was putting together her wedding stationery and she showed me so many wedding blogs that she was getting inspiration from. The top two blogs that caught my attention were Oh So Beautiful Paper and Graphic Exchange. I wonder why, haha. I’m a paper fanatic, you see.

And as I got into those blogs, I found more, and then more, and then more. Even though I was already married at the time, wedding blogs intrigued me. They began to inspire my cards and stationery. Artsy-crafty blogs intrigued me more. Where were these years ago?

So I started up my very first blog, which was the old blog that showcased my design work. Some of you may have originally travelled from there to here with me. And so my blogging world began. And in the past almost two years of me knowing about the blog world, I have grown to love some blogs very much.

So where does creativity seek inspiration? I’m sure these blogs are on the list. My favorite ones in no particular order:

A Creative Mint

Creature Comforts

The Odessa May Society

The Paper Dialogues

Angela Hardison

Where do you seek inspiration? I know there are blogs out there that I have yet to discover, so it’s up to you to share them with me! That’s how I’ve found most of these lovely ones so far. And it’s very important to keep a good balance when it comes to seeking inspiration. Before the blogging world came into existence in my life, I had to get ideas via nature and life alone. I think it helped my brain a lot to think new things. It’s so easy to want to redo what somebody else has created, but that’s not the way to go. Sure, there is really no such thing as coming up with something completely new, but how creative can you be by taking bits and pieces of other things and bringing them together to form something “new” from that? Takes work, but it’s oh so fun and rewarding when you see the final product. What are your thoughts on this?

And for a longer, bigger, and greater list of inspiring blogs, check out the very bottom of my blog. I’ve listed the ones that I read more often than others, but there are still so many that I catch up on. My pretty much has them all. If you’re really that curious, you can see who I follow, but I thought I’d spare you the longest list of your life.

And I mean it, please share with me your top favorite inspiration blog! That would make my day!

Have you ever heard of Rebecca Newport? Well, today you have. She is one stylish stylist. I simply adore her pictures of pastel painted spoons. How clever! I would never have thought of painting some old spoons with paint and using them as props. But I definitely like the outcome. So spunky. I’m curious how these spoons would look painted in bold colors with intricate pattern work. I’m so very tempted to try.

Decorate Away

This has already showed up everywhere it seems, but I still want to share about this {just in case one of you haven’t heard about it already}. Anthropologie’s BHLDN has come out with a decor line. It is definitely overpriced for what they offer, and so much of what they’re selling for crazy prices can be made at home or bought somewhere else for much less. What say you about that?

But I’m definitely inspired. Who wouldn’t be? They even started selling tape and twine…that totally calls for a DIY!

Paper Creative

I adore styled photos with paper being the main model. Leslie of A Creative Mint rocks at this:undefinedundefined

Shopping @ Anthro

This month I plan on doing some home decor upgrades. Of course my first stop to look and get inspired is Anthropologie. I received the newest catalog in the mail today. Perhaps that’s the reason I went there first. Hmmm….

For the living room: Cherry Blossom Chandelier {I’d love to see this in gray and white}

undefined

For the bathroom: The Chemist’s Jar and The Baker’s Jar

undefined

For the kitchen: Homegrown Monogram Mugs

undefined

For the office: Cover Story Postcards

undefined

And this isn’t necessarily home decor, but it’s just so sweet…

For the closet’s fashions: Teacup Traditions Necklace
