Custom Card: Christmas Teddy
After all the whirlwind of Christmas and the New Year — and then getting miserably sick for eight days — I’m finally getting around to sharing one of the cutest cards with you that I had the privilege to make last year. The newly-married wife wanted something special for her husband, and what else than something incredibly personal for the couple? The gal has an adorable nickname that she dubbed her love, and it was used as the inspiration for this card.
A teddy bear was assembled from twelve pieces, given a sparkling gold hat, and a jar of dripping honey was placed in front.

Gift Wrap: Winter Glitter Dots
With winter in full gear, I felt it suitable to create at least one winter-inspired gift wrap idea for the blog before I start going crazy with Valentine’s Day. Find the how-to instructions below:
1 Grab a white box.
2 Dab the eraser end of a pencil into some silver paint or ink and create a polka dot pattern on the box’s lid.
3 Sprinkle some white glitter over the wet paint/ink and shake off the excess.
4 Tie some silver glitter string around the box for a finish.

Pieces of My Christmas Home
Decorating for Christmas is probably one of my most favorite things to do. I’m always dying to do it earlier and earlier each year because I love the warmth it brings into a home. My husband and I find ourselves drinking too many cups of tea by the Christmas tree talking about our past year and what we hope to accomplish in the next. Christmas has always been a time for us to reflect on what we have already, on what’s happened and what’s coming, and so forth — but most of all, it’s a reminder to us of what life really is all about. It’s not about ourselves and who we are, it’s about God and His Son, and who they are and what they did for us. It brings us back to the simple things and encourages us to be braver and stronger to stand up in a world where Christmas has become not about them. As much as I love seeing the twinkle lights on the tree, the wreath on the door, the smell of gingerbread cookies being baked in the oven by my sister, the prettily-wrapped presents piling up under the tree — it would all be nothing without grace.
